Fast food workers who are advocating a $15 minimum wage will march to a New Hampshire jail to protest a colleague's death behind bars after he was unable to post $100 bail.
Workers in the Fight for $15 campaign are demanding answers about how 26-year-old Jeffrey Pendleton died at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections earlier this month. They say Pendleton — who worked at a Nashua Burger King — recently went on strike with them to protest low wages.
The march takes place Friday at 2:30 p.m. in Manchester.
The New Hampshire Civil Liberties Union recently won judgments on Pendleton's behalf of $7,600 from Hudson and more than $10,000 from Nashua, after police wrongly arrested him multiple times for panhandling.
Pendleton was being held on a marijuana possession charge.
