Manufacturing Partnership Initiative Launches in New Hampshire

The New Hampshire Department of Resources and Economic Development launched an initiative this week to help industries maintain their workforce.

Young people in New Hampshire are gravitating away from manufacturing jobs. And that's not ideal, because manufacturing is the largest driver of the New Hampshire economy.

The Manufacturing Sector Partnership creates a state-wide collaboration for industries to address their workforce needs.

Part of the effort will educate young people about the benefits of manufacturing jobs. Commissioner Jeffery Rose says keeping young people in the workforce is essential to the future of the state.

He says, “Manufacturing is a great career ladder opportunity where you could have real earning potential.”

The partnership follows a national model that has been successful in about 20 states, and Commissioner Rose hopes to see similar results in New Hampshire.
