When it comes to food assistance, a family’s home address can determine whether it can receive help from the government. In Oregon, for example, there are rural school districts where there is no free lunch.
But in Portland, needy students can get free lunch and breakfast — and now free dinners, too. From the Here & Now Contributors Network, Rob Manning of Oregon Public Broadcasting reports.
