Federal Health officials say 23,210 New Hampshire customers signed up for health insurance using healthcare.gov during the first month of the second enrollment period.
Nearly seventy percent of enrollees qualified for federal subsidies, and more than 40 percent were new customers under the federal exchange.
“The fact that we’ve had 23,000 people sign up for coverage in one month of open enrollment as compared to 40,000 that signed up in the six months last year make it well beyond our expectations. We think we’re off to a great start,” says Ray Hurd, the Regional Administrator for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid services.
The numbers don’t include people who signed up using the federal exchange last year, but took no action and were automatically re-enrolled for another year of coverage
The three month open enrollment period began in November and ends February 15th.
