President Obama and the Department of Education have unveiled a new website called College Scorecard that provides information about annual costs, graduation rates and salaries after graduation.

The goal is to make it easier for parents and prospective students to decide on a school. It comes as the administration is shelving its two-year effort to establish a system that specifically rates colleges and universities.

Here & Now’s Meghna Chakrabarti speaks with Derek Thompson of The Atlantic for a look at the new College Scorecard and what it may mean for the nation’s 7,000 universities and colleges.
