New Hampshire’s Big Buck Hunters Win Big on the World Stage

Jason Moon for NHPR

Local crack shots Kylie and Ryan Hodsdon won big at this year’s Big Buck Hunter World Championship in Las Vegas.

As we reported earlier this year, the Hodsdons are the “king and queen” of a Dover-based Big Buck Hunter league.

In Big Buck Hunter, players use plastic shotguns to shoot deer that gallop across a TV screen.

The Hodsdons have been competing in these global competitions for about five years. This year, Kylie took first place in the Ladies Tournament, while Ryan placed 3rd overall. Combined, the pair is bringing home $13,000 in prize money.

In an interview on Twitch TV, Kylie said simply, "It feels great. It feels really, really good."

The Hodsdons are already back to practicing their aim at Fury’s Publick House in Dover, where they say anyone is welcome to come shoot with them.

You can see Kylie in action in the video below.
