Keno sales in New Hampshire have topped $1 million in just over a month.
The electronic bingo game Keno kicked off in December. It’s now in 45 bars and restaurants in cities across the state.
So far the most popular locations are in Manchester, Nashua and Somersworth.
Maura McCann of NH Lottery said she’s hearing positive things from businesses.
“They are telling us that there is an uptick in their business – they are seeing not only their current customers staying a bit longer but it is bringing new faces in the door," McCann said.
“Definitely a trend that will continue because we are really looking at the next influx of businesses if the towns do go ahead and approve the game for sale – we will be signing up probably about another hundred.”
Sales from Keno help to fund full-day kindergarten programs statewide. Towns will be voting on whether to allow Keno in March.
