A new statewide multimedia news organization is set to launch next week.
New Hampshire 1 News will begin broadcasting Monday via TV. The outlet has been broadcasting news across its network of radio stations since March.
Based out of the renovated Walker School in Concord, the network is the creation of businessman Bill Binnie.
The station held a grand opening Wednesday, and Binnie says the station’s technology is state of the art.
“We now have a facility that can talk to the whole of the state of New Hampshire quickly, efficiently, on any medium. And that has been unique to Concord or needed in Concord as well as New Hampshire and we’re proud to help bring it.”
Binnie purchased the Walker School from the city of Concord for $900,000.
The station has hired 35 people, including former Nashua Telegraph Statehouse reporter Kevin Landrigan.
The station will begin with nightly newscasts next week on WBIN, with plans to expand news coverage into the morning and at noon.
