N.H.'s Executive Council Takes Summer Roadtrip to Weirs Beach

In the spirit of summer, Gov. Chris Sununu and New Hampshire's Executive Councilor had a little fun at Wednesday’s regular meeting, starting the morning with a boat ride and ending it with arcade games.

Before heading to the day’s meeting in Laconia, all five of the councilors, including Sununu, strapped on life vests and took a cruise around Lake Winnipesaukee.

Sununu even got to take the boat for a spin.

The Councilors drove past Governor's Island and the Wier's during their boat tour Wednesday morning.

“Of course I got to drive the boat – that was a lot of fun. I shouldn’t say of course – I was pretty skeptical," he said. "I said no for a little bit and then they insisted. It handles well – it’s great.”

After returning the vests and exiting the docks, it was off to Funspot for the official meeting.

Funspot offers hundreds of arcade games, bowling, miniature golf and a tavern - where the meeting itself took place. And it kicked off as usual with the pledge of allegiance and an opening prayer.

The Executive Council meeting was held at Funspot on it's tavern's pool table.

The Councilors then got right down to business – that is at the tavern’s pool table, each sitting next to a large mug of candy.

Every summer councilors take their meetings on the road to get into the community. The next stop will be Hampton Beach.
