Several shows will be making their debuts or returning to TV this weekend.

“Homeland” fans are hoping the CIA thriller starring Clare Danes, which was something of a disappointment in the previous season, will make a comeback. “The Affair,” about the psychological effects of two affairs, is also returning to Showtime.

ABC Family announced an untitled scripted comedy based on rapper Nicki Minaj’s childhood in Queens. She’s set to executive produce and appear on the show. NPR TV critic Eric Deggans talks about what’s new on TV with Here & Now’s Robin Young.
