Last week we learned that New Hampshire is first in the nation in yet another category - per capita beer sales. According to a trade group study, for every Granite Stater of legal drinking age, state bars and retailers sell 43 gallons of beer.
Now, analysts say the high rate is probably due to out-of-state visitors looking to buy in tax-free New Hampshire, but it got us thinking about beers in the Granite State. And sure enough, the Southern New Hampshire Brewers Festival takes place this weekend in Hooksett.
Angel Roy is food writer for the Hippo; she recently wrote about the festival and she joins All Things Considered host Brady Carlson to talk about the diversity of New Hampshire beers and what to expect at the festival.
