U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen of New Hampshire is part of a delegation that will attend the commemoration marking the 20th anniversary of the Srebrenica massacre.

The delegation is led by former President Bill Clinton. The commemoration is scheduled for Saturday in Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Some 8,000 Muslim men and boys were executed in Srebrenica in 1995 when Serb forces overran the eastern Bosnian town and mounted Europe's worst massacre since World War II.

Bosnia's 1992-95 war played a central role in Clinton's foreign policy. Clinton later advocated for the creation of the International Commission for Missing Persons, a Bosnia-based DNA identification project.
