Some Charges Dropped Against Couple Accused of Growing Marijuana

Prosecutors have dropped some charges against a New Hampshire couple accused of growing marijuana in their home.

Sixty-five-year-old Robert Zdrada and his wife, 60-year-old Valerie Zdrada, were arrested in October after police say they found seven and a half pounds of marijuana and other items used to grow the plants indoors.

The Atkinson couple had pleaded not guilty to cultivating, possessing and intending to distribute marijuana. WMUR-TV reports prosecutors dropped all charges against Valerie Zdrada and a charge that Robert was planning to sell the marijuana.

Their attorney has said the drug was intended to ease the pain of Robert Zdrada, who has cancer.
