An elite New Hampshire prep school reeling from the conviction of a former student for sexual assault is hosting a symposium on youth and technology with the goal of publishing a guidebook on social media to help schools.
St. Paul's School graduate Owen Labrie was convicted last year of misdemeanor sexual assault charges and a felony charge of using a computer to lure an underage student for sex. Emails and social media posts shared with the jury showed Labrie boasting about his sexual encounters with the female student.
The 3-day symposium features experts on technology, sociology and adolescent development. The event focuses on the intersection of technology and teenagers' emotional, spiritual and psychological development.
St. Paul's, located in Concord, is a coed, private high school.
