Quarterback Trevor Knight, a junior from Amherst, N.H., threw for 299 yards and a touchdown as the University of New Hampshire Wildcats defeated Central Connecticut State University 14-0 on Saturday.

The Wildcats move to 8-4 on the season and advance to the second-round playoffs Dec. 2 against Central Arkansas.

Linebacker Quinlen Dean, a sophomore from Greenbelt, Md., had 12 tackles, and an interception. Linebacker Jared Kuehl, a junior from Plymouth, N.H., made seven tackles and came up with two turnovers - one an interception. Knight threw a 41-pass for a touchdown in the third quarter to Nick Lorden, a freshman from Milford, N.H.

Late in the fourth quarter, running back Evan Gray, a sophomore from Centreville, Va., scored on a short run.

Central State last week suspended two of its players, including the starting quarterback, in connection with an off-campus party.

Central Arkansas is on a run. Since a loss in the first game of the season, Central Arkansas has won its last 10 games.
