Founded in the 1830s, the Queen City's Amoskeag Manufacturing Company became an industrial powerhouse of international renown, making Manchester a magnet for immigrant laborers and later, union activism. We're talking with two Granite State historians about this period and its relevance today.
- Aurore Eaton, former executive director of the Manchester Historic Association, writer of a weekly N.H. history column in the Union Leader called Looking Back, and author of the book The Amoskeag Manufacturing Company: A History of Enterprise on the Merrimack River. She also regularly gives talks and walking tours about Manchester.
- Robert Perreault, an expert on Manchester history and New England Franco-American culture. He is a writer, public speaker, historical tour guide, and has published several books.
