Presidential Candidates and the Arts

By Liz Bulkley on Monday, September 3, 2007.

Tonight on the Front Porch, we're looking at the intersection of art and politics. A group of concerned citizens is trying to make sure that the presidential candidates talk about arts-related issues in their campaigns. We'll meet one of the people organizing that effort, and we'll look back at past presidents and presidential candidates to see what they contributed to the arts.

Our guests are:
Suzanne Delle Harrison, coordinator of Arts Vote NH
Caroline Levine, author of “Provoking Democracy: Why We Need the Arts,” and professor of English at the University of Wisconsin-Madison
