Humankind: Meeting Hate With Love -- Stories of King and Gandhi

By NHPR Staff on Monday, January 21, 2008.

The Exchange takes a break to bring you a special program exploring the beliefs of two men who fought for civil rights and who were led by the theory of nonviolence. Friends of Martin Luther King Jr. discuss his life and the roots of his peaceful resistance philosophies. Later, the grandson of Mahatma Gandhi remembers how his grandfather’s teachings would influence future civil rights leaders.
