Tracking Coos Students for Ten Years

By Mark Bevis on Monday, March 16, 2009.

The Carsey Institute at the University of New Hampshire is releasing the first part of an ambitious study on youth in Coos County.

Over the course of ten years, researchers are going to follow some 650 students.

When the study started last year, the students were in 7th and 11th grades, and they came from all nine public schools in the county's five districts.

Sociology Professor Nena Stracuzzi is with the Carsey Institute.

She tells NHPR's Mark Bevis that the purpose of the study is to record the changes in the lives of the students... as well as in their hopes and dreams.
