Story Archives of 'Chrysler'Six New Hampshire Car Dealers Cope With Shutting Chrysler FranchisesBy David Darman on Tuesday, June 9, 2009.Beginning today, six Chrysler Dodge and Jeep dealerships in New Hampshire can no longer sell their company’s new vehicles. The dealers are on a list of 789 nationwide that Chrysler announced would no longer be a part the company as it seeks to merge with Fiat. Chrysler executives have said they would help these dealers get fair prices for their unsold cars, parts and supplies. But some local dealers say they haven’t gotten any real help from Chrysler. NHPR’s David Darman has more. Shea-Porter Asks for Timeout on Dealership ClosureBy Jon Greenberg on Monday, June 8, 2009.Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter is asking President Obama to postpone any dealership closures until there has been a review of why those dealers are on the termination list. Such a request faces long odds given the priority the administration places on seeing both Chrysler and GM emerge quickly from bankruptcy. A government review would delay the resolution of bankruptcy proceedings. Chrysler dealers that have been terminated must remove all sign of affiliation with Chrysler by midnight June 9th. |
