A proposal to enshrine victims' rights in the New Hampshire Constitution has notable backers, including Gov. Chris Sununu, but some say it's too broad and vague.

Buzz Scherr, chairman of International Criminal Law and Justice Programs at UNH School of Law, is in this camp.

He also contends supporters are distorting the rights currently provided by state law.

Rich Ashooh worked for six years on the staff of former New Hampshire Senator Warren Rudman.

Now the longtime executive for defense contractor BAE Systems will lead the Warren B. Rudman Center for Justice, Leadership and Public Policy, the center at UNH Law named in honor of his former boss.

Representatives from Dartmouth College, UNH, and advocacy groups joined Democratic Congresswoman Ann McLane Kuster for a roundtable discussion about campus sexual assault today.  The event at UNH Law in Concord focused on new legislation introduced in the US Senate.

Former Chief Justice of the State Supreme Court, John Broderick, will step down as dean of the UNH law school.

Broderick will become the first executive director for the Rudman Center for Justice, Leadership and Public policy, which opened last year.

The Rudman Center, which is part of the UNH law school, seeks to provide leadership training and foment commitment to public service.
