Jeff Woodburn en As Northern Pass Opponents Worry, No Hint From Hassan On Whether She'll Sign Senate Bill 99 <p>Some Northern Pass opponents are hoping Governor Maggie Hassan will sign <a href="">Senate Bill 99,</a> which they think may complicate approval&nbsp;of the controversial hydro-electric project. The bill may reach Hassan's desk this week but she says she hasn’t decided what to do.</p><p>“I haven’t reviewed the bill yet in any kind of detail so I’ll do that and then make up my mind,” she told NHPR Saturday.</p> Mon, 17 Jun 2013 16:07:41 +0000 Chris Jensen 29611 at Gambling Bill Has Consolation Prize For North Country - Maybe <p>A bill authorizing a casino with 500 slot machines and 150 table games faces its first vote in the senate ways and means committee Tuesday morning.</p><p>The proposal enjoys the backing of Governor Maggie Hassan and calls for the casino to be located on the Massachusetts border.</p><p>But as NHPR’s Chris Jensen reports, it’s also getting some attention in the North Country.</p><p>As drafted, Senate Bill 152, envisions a sending part of of the casino’s profits to the North Country for economic development.</p><p>Sen. John Gallus, a Republican from Berlin.</p><p>So far Warner&nbsp;is the only Republican running.</p><p>Warner got her doctorate in clinical psychology from Bowling Green State University.</p><p>She&rsquo;s been in private practice in Coos and Grafton Counties and previously worked for a non-profit family clinic as well as state agencies in New York and New Hampshire.</p><p>Gallus told NHPR he doesn&rsquo;t plan to endorse any candidate until after the September primary.</p> Thu, 31 May 2012 13:40:37 +0000 Chris Jensen 5889 at Two Dems Declare Interest In Vacant North Country Senate Seat <p>Less than two weeks after Sen.
