100-Year-Old Woman Shares Her Secret To Longevity

Here & Now’s Jeremy Hobson is broadcasting from his hometown of Urbana, Illinois, today. He traveled there for the 100th birthday of a family friend, Betty Esser.

Jeremy visits her home to speak with her and her daughter, Kay Evans, about the milestone — and her secrets to longevity.

Betty tells Jeremy, “I try not to get upset about things and I think I’m sort of easygoing. I don’t let things disturb me.”
