Longtime defense executive Rich Ashooh is running again for New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District.

The Republican is expected to make a formal announcement on his bid for the seat next week, according to the Union Leader.

Ashooh, who lives in Bedford, finished a narrow third in the 2010 Republican Congressional primary.

He worked as a top executive for defense contractor BAE Systems and, most recently, served as interim director of the Warren Rudman Center at UNH Law.

State Rep. Pam Tucker of Greenland has also announced her candidacy for the Republican primary.

They will challenge Frank Guinta, who is seeking re-election despite his recent campaign finance violations.

Dan Innis, a Portsmouth Republican, dropped his bid last week.
