Black Lives Matter Protesters Say 'We're Not Anti-Cops'

A few hundred gathered for a Black Lives Matter march down Elm Street in Manchester Saturday evening.

Among the local protesters was 18 year old Manchester resident, Amy Gakwaya. As a black person, she says, “I don’t have the same protection and rights as a person of another color,” she says, “and it’s not okay.”

Gakwaya makes sure to point out that the Black Lives Matter movement is not anti-white OR anti-cops. “It’s just about focusing on the lives that are endangered right now.”

Jill Stein, the U.S. Green Party’s presidential candidate participated, along with local clergy.
