The Exchange wants to help listeners get to know the candidates running in the crowded race for New Hampshire's 1st Congressional District.
"Race for the 1st" is a series of 20-minute interviews with the 11 declared candidates, kicking off Monday, April 2 and running through the spring. The interviews will take place live on Mondays at 9:40 a.m. They will be broadcast on air, as well as on Facebook Live.
The district is one of the most closely watched swing districts in the country. Control of the seat has flipped back and forth between Republicans and Democrats fives times since 2007. When Democrat Carol Shea-Porter announced she would not be running for re-election in 2018, it created a flurry of interest in the race for the open seat.
The district covers a large chunk of the eastern part of the state, including greater Manchester, plus much of the Seacoast and Lakes Region.
So far, eight Democrats and three Republicans have declared their candidacies. Here is a rundown of their scheduled appearances on The Exchange:
April 2: Mindi Messmer (D)
April 9: Terence O’Rourke (D)
April 16: Deaglan McEachern (D)
