Good Gig: Color Expert Lee Eiseman

Good Gig is a series of conversations with individuals who have landed their dream job.

We continue our series on 'Good Gigs' with Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute®. Lee fell in love with color from an early age, and parlayed that passion into her current gig with Pantone. Choosing the color of the year is a complicated task that involves tireless research into the current and emerging trends happening throughout the world. Not only does she look to fashion for cues, but also unexpected places like sporting events. What country is hosting the Olympics can veer the color of the year in a certain direction, but mood can also play a role in the selection. Listen to the whole interview above.

Have you got a good gig? We’re looking for guests for our Good Gig series, so if you love your job, we want to know about it, especially if it’s a gig few people do or think of as “work”.

You can go to our Facebook page and tell us about what you do, or send a brief email to wordofmouth@nhpr.org and put “Good Gig” in the subject line.
