In this series, Michael Brindley tells some of those stories.

Marking History: First Textile Mills In New Ipswich

The roots of the Industrial Revolution in New Hampshire can be traced back to the small town of New Ipswich.

That’s where the first textile mills opened in the Granite State in the early 1800s.

As part of our continuing series, Marking History, NHPR’s Michael Brindley travels to New Ipswich to tour Warwick Mills, the site of the oldest operating textile mill in New Hampshire.

Michael serves as NHPR's Program Director. Michael came to NHPR in 2012, working as the station's newscast producer/reporter. In 2015, he took on the role of Morning Edition producer. Michael worked for eight years at The Telegraph of Nashua, covering education and working as the metro editor.
