A hearing will be held Tuesday to determine whether a man convicted of murdering a University of New Hampshire student will be allowed to skip his sentencing hearing later this week.
Lawyers for Seth Mazzaglia say their client does not wish to be present when friends and family of 19-year-old Lizzie Marriott make statements in court Thursday.
Prosecutors are expected to ask a superior court judge to reject the motion and force him to be in the courtroom during sentencing.
The 31-year-old Mazzaglia faces life in prison faces for killing Marriott in 2012.
