All public schools in Nashua will be closed Monday, after officials received what they describe as a detailed threat of violence against the city's two high schools.
Superintendent Mark Conrad says he chose to shut down all 17 of the city's schools because of the specific nature of the threat.
According to a district statement, the threat targeted students and staff at Nashua High School North and South.
Conrad says police are working to determine the credibility of the threat, and he expects schools will reopen on Tuesday.
Nashua is the state's second-largest school district, with an enrollment of more than 11,000 students.
Gov. Maggie Hassan says state police, state emergency management officials, and the FBI are involved in the investigation.
St. Christopher School and Nashua Catholic Regional Junior High School will also be closed Monday..
