N.H. House To Wrap Up Its Version of the New State Budget

Allegra Boverman for NHPR

House budget writers this week will be finishing up their version of the next two-year state spending plan before it goes to the full House next week.

The House Finance Committee will be making final tweaks to their proposed budget plan.

So far major changes to Governor Chris Sununu’s proposal include nixing funding for full-day kindergarten and increased spending on infrastructure.

The House had $59 million less to use in drafting  its budget than Sununu did back in February. But new revenue estimates are expected sometime this week, which may change things further.

Once the full House passes its budget proposal next week then the Senate will have to craft its version.
