Our Annual Summer Books Show

Credit Sara Plourde / NHPR

With warm vacations on our minds, we’ll look at some of the best reads for the longest days of the year. There are new fiction offerings from familiar names like Carl Hiaasen, Dave Eggers, Neil Gaiman and Joe Hill, the son of Stephen King.  Foodies will froth over the fact that Omnivore's Dilemma author, Michael Pollan is out with a new book on the transformation of food called Cooked.  And for those with New Hampshire pride, DaVinci Code author, Dan Brown is out with his new book, Inferno, while Pulitzer Prize winner and former Poet Laureate, Charles Simic is out with a half-century collection of his work.
