Organizers of "FourSquare Day" in Portsmouth say the city's walkable downtown is one of the reasons why the event is successful.

Police in Portsmouth say they’re investigating what may be another heroin-related death.

Seacoast Online reports authorities were called to the Beechstone Apartments, where they found the body of a 31 year old man.

Police have not released his name, but say they were told the man had been in possession of heroin the day before.

Authorities are investigating and say more information may be available later in the week.

Portsmouth, like much of New Hampshire, has seen a dramatic rise in heroin and opioid-related deaths in recent years. Last month a 28 year old man died in the woods in Portsmouth with drug paraphernalia nearby.
