Sen. Shaheen Meets With Marathon Responders

New Hampshire police officers who pitched in after the Boston Marathon Bombings last year met in Manchester Tuesday with Senator Jeanne Shaheen.

About 40 police officers from Manchester, Nashua, Hampton and the State Police gathered to receive commendations from Shaheen.

Manchester officer Nate Boudreau used a map of Watertown to show where New Hampshire teams conducted house-by-house searches for Dzokhar Tsarnaev, the man charged with the bombing.

“You have this perception that Seal Team Six is going to speed-rope down and take care of this issue, and they’re not going to be there. The first responder is going to deal with these issues until we can’t deal with it any longer.”

Shaheen told the officers that they can never be thanked enough.

She also gave each police chief an American flag that has flown above the nation’s capital.
