Authorities continue to investigate a suspicious package sent to Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter's Dover office Monday.
No one was injured, police said.
Shea-Porter, a four-term Democrat from Rochester, issued the following statement:
"This afternoon, my New Hampshire office received an envelope with an unidentified brown substance inside. My office followed House procedure and notified the appropriate law enforcement agencies, and we are waiting for the results of some testing. I am so grateful for the quick response of the Dover Police Department."
Dover police said the package was delivered to Shea-Porter's Central Avenue office during regular mail delivery. The Dover Police Department is investigating, along with the U.S. Capitol Police.
