Last week, you heard Rep. Frank Guinta offer his best elevator pitch on why voters should send him back to Congress. This week, we caught up with his Democratic challenger, former Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter, to get her pitch for why voters should send her back to Congress – again.
Guinta and Shea-Porter are facing off in their fourth consecutive Congressional race to represent New Hampshire’s 1st District. This time around, they're also facing off against Shawn O'Connor, who's running as an independent.
Aside from this pair of political opponents, we’ve also asked for elevator pitches from all of the other candidates who’ve stopped by NHPR’s studios for forums this year – a group that includes a few presidential hopefuls, Gov. Maggie Hassan and Congressional candidate Jim Lawrence. Later this week, we’ll hear from Sen. Kelly Ayotte and Rep. Annie Kuster. You can check out the whole series here.
After offering her elevator pitch, Shea-Porter also sat down for an hour-long forum with NHPR’s The Exchange as part of our ongoing series of “Conversations with the Candidates” leading up to the election. Listen to the whole thing here.
