On Ukraine, Ayotte Calls For "Clear" American Message To Putin

With Ukraine still torn between pro-European and pro-Russian factions, New Hampshire Republican Senator Kelly Ayotte is calling on the Obama Administration to take a strong stand against Russia.

Speaking on Fox News Sunday, Ayotte said the so-called “Reset Policy” with President Vladimir Putin had failed.  She pointed out the country’s siding with the Assad regime in Syria, harboring NSA leaker Edward Snowden, and alleged violation of a decades-old nuclear arms treaty.

Ayotte Proposes To Ease Strict Fishing Limitations

During a Senate Commerce Subcommittee meeting on Tuesday Senator Kelly Ayotte recommended changes to the Mid-Atlantic Magnuson-Stevens Fishery and Conservation Act.

The conservation act dates back to 1976 and is meant to maintain stock and habitat at sustainable levels.

In recent years that’s meant strict catch limits for Atlantic Cod and Haddock.

And many senators agree that catch limits issued under the Act have worked.

DOE Collecting Info Without A Complete Northern Pass Route Not Unusual, Says Law Prof

Some North Country landowners are surprised that Department of Energy contractors are gathering environmental information on the Northern Pass project even though the route isn’t complete.

But Patrick Parenteau, a lawyer professor and expert in environmental law at the Vermont Law School, is not surprised.
